Limetec® Mortars
Limetec® natural hydraulic lime mortars use traditional materials to create beautiful buildings with a consistency and reliability of product which allows their use in mainstream commercial applications.
Limetec® natural hydraulic lime mortars main advantages over cement or 1:1:6 mortars are they:
- Reduce the need for expansion joints improving the look of the building
- Aesthetically enhance masonry through lighter colours and a variety of aggregates
- Weaker bond allow masonry to be re-cycled at end of life reducing the carbon footprint of the wall
- Consistent quality control and mix proportions gives comfort to contractors and specifiers
Limetec® mortars are available in 20 T bulk silos, 1 T bulk bags and 25kg bags. All mortars are dry premix mortars - just add water. For large projects, mortar can be supplied in 20 T dry mix silos with refill deliveries of 20 T at a time. The silo is fitted with a control panel and 'high shear' mixer that regulates water input and mix flow producing constant mortar at the touch of a button.
For most normal applications i.e. cavity brickwork, blockwork and stonework Limetec® Moderately Hydraulic lime mortar can be used.
Where a higher level of durability is required i.e. masonry exposed to sever weather, copings, chimneys, flaunchings, parapets and work below ground level then Limetec® Eminently Hydraulic Lime mortar is applicable.
