PM opens latest Tradical® Hemcrete® carbon free social housing scheme

Prime Minster David Cameron has officially opened Cottsway Housing’s latest rural housing development at Blackditch, Stanton Harcourt. The scheme has been created as part of the Homes & Communities Renewable Housing Programme and features Tradical®  Hemcrete®, an innovative hemp and lime thermal walling system from Lime Technology.

At the opening Mr Cammeron said: “This development is innovative and creative and Cottsway is leading the way in providing green homes. It is vital to build new housing in rural areas to help and Post Offices.”

The scheme, built by contractor EG Carter and designed by architects Kendall Kingscott, is part of a series of pioneering schemes to create sustainable and comfortable homes with low running costs through the use of carbon neutral products and renewable technologies. The homes have been designed to achieve level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
